Knox Presbyterian Church
Nursery School is a non-profit, developmental program with an emphasis on
Kindergarten readiness. We focus on offering your child a loving and
nurturing experience in a stimulating and safe non-denominational Christian
environment. We have a highly respected pjrogram which strives to develop
each child to their fullest cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual
abilities. Our graduates matriculate to well-known private schools as well
as to Catholic and public schools in nearby communities.
All
children are accepted on a non-discriminatory basis. Knox does reserve the
right to reject an application on grounds other than race, creed, color,
religion or national origin.
The
school is dependent solely on the tuition paid by the parents and by donations.
General Information
Children must be between
the ages of 2 years and 6 years of age. We potty-train for an additional
fee.
Knox Nursery School is
open Monday through Friday, between 6:30am and 6:00pm. Half-day children
attend from 6:30am until 12:00 Noon or 11:30am until 6:00pm. Our school
convenes the Wednesday after Labor Day through June.
Summer sessions will
follow regular school after 1, 2, or 3 days closure, starting in June and ending
in August.
Vacation and holiday
schedules are as follows (parents do not pay for vacations in annual
tuition).
2 weeks Christmas Vacation
1 week Easter Vacation (after Easter)
Knox
Nursery School usually follows the local community public school calendar for
Holidays.
All
parents are part of the Parent Advisory Committee, which provides opportunities
for parents to actively participate in their child's educational
experiences. It acts as a support group for parents; promotes a
team-effort with the Knox staff; and it raises funds through 3 fund-raisers
during the year to be spent on special events.
Christian Education
Knox School has chapel service
once each week. Christian Education starts at 8:30 am daily with praise songs,
Bible stories, Bible verses and prayer. The awareness of God and Jesus Christ is expressed
in the classroom throughout the cirriculum. Good manners and values are a part
of the Knox daily routine.
Special Activities
Knox Nursery School takes 3
fun and exciting educational field trips each year: Science, Animal and
Transportation. Cost for field trips are included in each child's Material
fee. School buses are used for all school field trips.
Special Services
Knox Teachers
receive CPR and first aid training annually for the children's safety.
Breakfast, a hot lunch and
3 snacks (1 morning, 2 afternoon) are provided daily.
A weekly gymnastics or
yoga program is part of the Knox curriculum.
Computers in each
classroom offer individual instruction based upon the child's cognitive
development and attention span.
We
offer instruction in Spanish in our Pre-K class.
Sheets/Blankets
are provided during rest time.
Uniforms
The
children are required to wear the Knox uniform Monday through Friday.
Children are required to wear rubber soled shoes every day for their
safety. School uniforms may be purchased through the Nuersery
School.

Registratin
Fee and Waiting List
A
non-refundable annual registration is required to reserve a place for your
child. you must observe our program for 30 minutes with your child present
before submitting your application. Observation is by appointment only.
Tuition
Payments
Annual
tuition is payable in 10 equal payments to the FACTS CO. each month, starting on
August and ending in May. Full payment of annual tuition may be made upon
enrollment or half payment of annual tuition every five months. Knox
School accepts money orders only.
Material
Fee
A
fee for homework packets and 3 field trips is required at time of
enrollment. The fee is annual, per child, per school year.
Scholarship
Program
Knox
School offers a scholarship program for Knox Families. Ask the Director
for an application in January before enrollment in September.
Parent
Partnership Assessment
To
keep tuition costs as low as possible, Knox School asks for a $100 yearly
contribution to purchase supplies and equipment needed in your child's
classroom.
